$600 Raised at the Race Against Cancer 100

Decourcy Racing (January 24, 2011) – On January 22, 2011 Checkered Flag Indoor Karting & Decourcy Racing held the 1st Annual Race Against Cancer for Racing Against Cancer. It was a totally awesome event. With 19 drivers from the age of 12 to 45 racing for the title 1st Annual Race Against Cancer 100 winner.

Each driver got 2 rounds of practice and 2 heats with the drivers with the lowest point score would be in the main. That gave us 7 drivers entered with 2 positions open. We ran some time trails for the 8th position. Then we had a provisional for a 9th starter. The Official Starter of every practice, heat, and feature Jeremy "Smoke Jr." Decourcy got the opportunity to have his picture taken with the PITGIRLS who volunteered to help promote the event.

The 100 lap feature was a barn burner. The track is very tight not much room for error or passing. The Electronic karts were very quick. The eventual winner Alex Vorrilas who started 7th took the lead after lap 10. On lap 25 trying to go through Lap traffic got messed up but held the lead to take down the win.

All in all it was a complete success. We raised $600.00 for Racing Against Cancer. Decourcy would like to Thank Blast Motorsports (Matt, Catherine, and Emily), James Sr., James Jr., Dakotah, & Eric Decourcy, Andy Seuss, Dan Winter, Mike Horn, Dave Thomas Jr (The person who inspired the idea cause he has the DT 100 for Make-A-Wish Foundation), Lenny Magano, Leon Keniston, Samantha Levesque, Alex Vorrilas, and a few of the driver who race in the CFIK Leagues. Also want to Thank Kenneth Kelly, The PitGirls, and Kelly Smith (photographer for the RAC 100. Visit his website www.imaginitphotos.com for 495 photos of the event. Purchase some you like some of the proceeds goes to Racing Against Cancer).

Decourcy Racing is hard at work on getting the 2nd Annual off the ground. We would love to have 40 to 50 drivers enter, and double what we made for Racing Against Cancer. Now it's time to get our karts ready for the upcoming season at Twin State Speedway with 1 bump in the road which is to goto the DT 100 at Maine Indoor Karting, in Scarbourgh, Me. To help support another great cause. So please check out the picture we have attached. It was a BLAST can't wait till next year.
